Week 31 - 32 Beachport, Warrnambool,Aireys Inlet, Wilsons Promontary NP

Left Adelaide on the 11th Nov and headed East

1st view of the Murray River

Still some crops

Mostly fishing ports on the coast.

Stayed the night at Beachport in gale force winds.

Into Victoria and a different fire sign. Not catastrophic now zone red!

Thru lots of pine forests and logging operations.
Brought back memories Tokoroa and orienteering!

Into Warrnambool for the night and saw a familiar Dairy Factory.

The coast here

Our campsite
Next day along the Great Ocean Road after passing through more dairy country.

When we were last here in the 80's the bridge across was still there.

Bloody windy at the Apostles!

Into Aireys Inlet for the night.

Great light house here.

King Parrot here as well - lovely.
Next day headed into and thru Melbourne.

Lots of heavy traffic and a bit scary on the motorway.
Wet as well on and off!

Eventually arrived at Wilsons Promontary NP
What a great place.

Hope to see lots of these

Our great campsite

Our 1st wild wombat even if he/she was in the camp.

Lots of great birds here as well.

And magic coastal bush

Huge camp.  One of 4 - 5 rubbish stations
Nearly 500 camp sites!

Lots of white sand beaches

Ocean views

Looking down on the camp grounds.

A few of the black cockatoos around as well.
The camp was a training ground for the OZ & NZ Commandos in the 1940's.
Large barracks here hence the size of the camp.
There was a 70th reunion while we were there.

And we did see more wombats in the wild!! but no Koalas.
Next blog soon as we head to Sydney and Brisbane.
We are now trying to sell the van and Pajero but it could take time.
Anyone out there want a great rig to do what we have just done. We can do a good deal!!
